That’s right, we ended up back in Vegas, this time in the middle of July. Nothing better than mixing the July summer heat with the freezing cold AC in the casinos. We checked into the Venetian, dropped our bags off and headed out to the strip to walk to In and Out burger. Living in the Midwest we don’t have one anywhere near us so we definitely try to stop at one any time we are out west. The July heat can be unbearable so we spent very little time actually walking outside on the sidewalk and instead just popped in and out of the casinos making our way back to the Venetian.

The trip was planned again around my sister and I seeing the Backstreet Boys at the Sphere. They must put something in the air at this place because so many fans have gone back multiple times to see the show. I’m convinced if you can see it more than once, you should try picking different locations. The show you see from the floor is very different than from the 400 section; both great – just completely different experiences.

I spent months trying to figure out what white outfit to wear, ordering so many tops, pants and skirts and trying to match the perfect shades of white. Fans attending the concert show up wearing white with hints of blue or silver in honor of their Millennium album.

We had GA floor tickets again so got to the Sphere early to get a spot off to the side of the stage at the barricade. The show and experience was so much fun and we had another amazing time! Highly recommend.

Although the temps were high, we actually had some overcast and light rain one of the days so only got to spend a little time out at the pool, which was honestly fine. It was almost too hot to be able to lay out comfortably, but we spent a few hours bouncing back and forth between the pool and our chairs enjoying some pina coladas.

Our last night in Vegas, Jason and I went to see The Docksider’s Yacht Rock Experience show, a band covering soft rock songs from the 70’s and 80’s. We purchased the show ticket package that included a table upfront, a visit and drinks at the minus 5 bar and a captains hat. The show was at the 1923 Prohibition Bar at the Grand Canal Shoppes and started off with a video montage of classic show tunes and just as the live performance was about to start, they ran into technical difficulties and lost all audio. We unfortunately sat there for about 20 minutes while they had to call in for assistance and reboot. Eventually the show got started but they had to work hard to get the audience back into it. The 75 minute show was filled with great vocals singing classic yacht rock hits and encouraging the audience to get up and dance. It wasn’t the best show I’ve seen in Vegas but if you like this kind of music and are looking for a night out and good entertainment, it’s worth checking out.

Most of us were pretty unlucky when it came to the slot machines with the exception of Jason who seemed to continuously find the lucky machines. For the rest of us, better luck next time. All in all, another great trip to Vegas and looking forward to heading back in the near future.
